ARD Tunings Billet Aluminum compressor wheel for the TD04HL-19T turbo is a simple, cost effective upgrade to improve turbocharger efficiency and flow.
Featuring solid billet construction with 11 blade design rather than the 6+6 primary/secondary factory design, this compressor wheel provides more consistent boost with higher air flow.
Utilizing stronger billet material we're able to reduce the diameter of the center bore (hub) providing more surface area per blade which effectively increases the inducer diameter and subsequent maximum air flow the compressor wheel can provide. Coupled with more desirable aerodynamics the 11 blade design promotes higher flow in upper RPM ranges where the stock cast wheel can run short.
Compared to the standard ARD Tuning Billet 19T compressor wheel, the ARD Tuning Spool Control compressor wheel for 19T turbos feature a 6 degree cut back on the blade ends to help control low RPM boost spiking that can be problematic when using a 19T turbo with M4.3 or M4.4 ECU's. For vehicles 1999 and later using ME7 engine management the spool control compressor wheel is less necessary but can provide added safety with respect to the issue over early RPM boost control.
This compressor wheel flows more than the stock 19T cast wheel but not quite as much as the standard ARD Tuning billet 19T compressor wheel. It's a good compromise between added flow and increased margin of safety.
All ARD Tuning Billet compressor wheels come pre-balanced but for greatest longevity ARD Tuning recommends to have the compressor wheel balanced with the complete assembly prior to installation.
*** The ARD Tuning billet 19T compressor wheel has a 58mm exducer and therefore will not fit smaller TD04 turbos (13G, 15G, 16T, 18T) with 56mm exducer without machining of the CHRA. For direct fit 19T billet compressor wheels for the smaller TD04 use our billet 19T conversion compressor wheel***
